Callan Park Consumer Centre Proposal

Read our proposal here

This proposal asks that Rose Cottage, Callan Park, be secured as a consumer-led mental health centre: held in the public interest, consistent with the long-term vision for the Park, and delivered by and for the people it serves.

The Centre would be home to iExpress, a ready-to-run communication service for people in prisons and locked psychiatric wards, alongside a suite of peer-led programs.

It would be managed by an experienced social enterprise, with funding available immediately. With the law governing Callan Park about to change and Rose Cottage still vacant, there is a narrow window to secure the building for its intended purpose.

We are currently in discussion with the Inner West Council and other NGOs to ensure that Rose Cottage is led by mental health consumers.
