The New South Wales Branch is one of eight branches of the College, formally constituted to provide professional leadership, support, and representation of mental health nurses in our region. We work in partnership with many agencies including: NSW Health, Centre for Mental Health, Chief Nurse, Nurses & Midwives Board, public sector Area Mental Health Services, Universities, TAFE, College of Nursing, Private sector hospitals, NGOs and other service providers - Supporting mental health in New South Wales.
Northern Beaches’ Mental Health Support Group is a group that provides members with practical strategies for coping with all mental health issues. Besides holding support groups and helping others the Support Group provides support for those facing difficulties. The Group aims to educate the community about mental illness, focus on primary preventative strategies, research community needs and lobbies for services, advocating for individuals and the group.

The Peer Support Foundation is dedicated to providing dynamic peer led learning programs that foster the physical, social and mental well being of young people and their community. Parramatta Mission provides vital services to the community throughout Sydney's west. Our aim is to provide relevant and practical support programs that interlock with the life of our vibrant and diverse city. By responding to the needs of people in crisis with empathy and understanding, community spirit is upheld, social justice is promoted and opportunities for change and acceptance are created. For over twenty years the Mission's driving focus has been to create a caring and healthy community through the instigation of practical and supportive programs.
We offer a range of programs and tailored support services focused on the individual needs of each person we support. This includes Lifestyle, Living, Employment and Health streams. At the heart of what we do is a commitment to working alongside individuals and focusing on their strengths to enable individual achievement and recovery.
Official Visitors are appointed by the NSW Minister for Health to visit people in mental health inpatient facilities in NSW and are available to assist consumers on community treatment orders.
Official Visitors are independent from the health system and come from the community from a range of cultural, professional and personal backgrounds.
They aim to safeguard standards of treatment and care, and advocate for the rights and dignity of people being treated under the NSW Mental Health Act 2007.
They make regular visits to all inpatient psychiatric facilities across NSW, they talk to patients, inspect records and registers, and report on the standard of facilities and services. They liaise with staff about any issues or concerns and report any problems to the Principal Official Visitor and/or the Minister for Health.
NSW RAPE CRISIS CENTRE Working Against Sexual Violence ' NSW RCC Accepts Indigenous Rights in Australia NSW Rape Crisis Centre provides 24/7 telephone and online crisis counselling to anyone who has been impacted by sexual violence, and trauma counselling for women who were sexually assaulted when they were children.
